Since media has a significant role to play, it is very important that the information they give is balanced. A report is said to be balanced if it reveals all sides of the story so that the readers are free to think about the next course of action. For giving a balanced report, the media has to be independent.

Disadvantages:
- The weaver is reduced to the level of a mere paid labourer where everything is taken care of and controlled by external agencies.
- The intermediary comes next who gets a commission on the order and sales.
- The one who makes maximum profit is the shop owner or exporter.
- Thus, the distribution of profits is highly unequal in this set up with the weaver getting paid a pittance and the intermediaries getting most of the profit.
