Ruminants are grass eating animals like the cow, ox, buffalo and sheep swallow the food without chewing. After feeding, they bring the food from the stomach back into the mouth and chew it leisurely. This process is called rumination and such animals are called as ruminants. Rumination is also called second chewing. Micro-organisms present in the stomach of ruminants help in digesting cellulose and in turn obtain shelter and nourishment form the animal. A symbiotic relationship exists between microorganisms and the ruminants. Digestion in ruminants is a good example of symbiosis.

- Dispersal of seed is important as if seeds germinate near to parent plants it will increase a lot of competition for air, water, and food as well.
- If competition increases it will lead to the death of the species and dispersal also leads to exposure to a new environment that helps in adaptation and evolution.

Without plant life, there would be no photosynthesis. Photosynthesis stores solar energy in a form plants can use. More importantly, a primary byproduct of photosynthesis is gaseous oxygen.
All animals eat either plants or other animals in order to obtain energy, and the only way they can metabolize this energy is through a chemical reaction with oxygen (which plants have created through photosynthesis).
Without plants, the world would be devoid of life. Human existence would be impossible without them.

The word ‘apiculture’ comes from the Latin word ‘apis’ meaning bee. So, apiculture or beekeeping is the care and management of honey bees for the production of honey and the wax. In this method of apiculture, bees are bred commercially in apiaries, an area where a lot of beehives can be placed. Apiaries can be set up in areas where there are sufficient bee pastures – usually areas that have flowering plants.
