Answer: Following number line is representing the temperature: The temperature decreases 2oC = 1 hour The temperature decreases 1oC =  hour The temperature decreases 18oC =  = 9 hours Total time = 12 noon + 9 hours = 21 hours = 9 pm Thus, at 9 pm the temperature would be 8oC below 0oC.

Maheshwar Gajjam ??? 5 years, 6 months ago

Question 6. In a class test (+3) marks are given for every correct answer and  marks are given for every incorrect answer and no marks for not attempting any question. (i)Radhika scored 20 marks. If she has got 12 correct answers, how many questions has she attempted incorrectly? (ii)Mohini scores  marks in this test, though she has got 7 correct answers. How many questions has she attempted incorrectly? Answer: (i) Marks given for one correct answer = 3 Marks given for 12 correct answers = 3 x 12 = 36 Radhika scored 20 marks. Therefore, Marks obtained for incorrect answers = 20 – 36 = –16 Now, marks given for one incorrect answer = –2 Therefore, number of incorrect answers =  Thus, Radhika has attempted 8 incorrect questions. (ii) Marks given for seven correct answers = 3 x 7 = 21 Mohini scores = –5 Marks obtained for incorrect answers = = –5 – 21 = –26 Now, marks given for one incorrect answer = –2 Therefore, number of incorrect answers =  Thus, Mohini has attempted 13 incorrect questions. Question 7. An elevator descends into a mine shaft at the rate of 6 m/min. If the descent starts from 10 above the ground level, how long will it take to reach  m? Answer: Starting position of mine shaft is 10 m above the ground but it moves in opposite direction so it travels the distance (–350) m below the ground. So total distance covered by mine shaft = 10 m – (–350) m = 10 + 350 = 360 m Now, time taken to cover a distance of 6 m by it = 1 minute So, time taken to cover a distance of 1 m by it =  minute Therefore, time taken to cover a distance of 360 m =  = 60 minutes = 1 hour (Since 60 minutes = 1 hour) Thus, in one hour the mine shaft reaches –350 below the ground.

The international transport pictogram for corrosives. EtymologyEdit The word corrosive is derived from the Latin verb corrodere, which means to gnaw, indicating how these substances seem to "gnaw" their way through flesh or other materials. Chemical termsEdit The word corrosive refers to any chemical that will dissolve the structure of an object. They can be acids, oxidizers, or bases. When they come in contact with a surface, the surface deteriorates. The deterioration can happen in minutes, e.g. concentrated hydrochloric acid spilled on skin; or slowly over days or years, e.g. the rusting of iron in a bridge. Sometimes the word caustic is used as a synonym for corrosive when referring to the effect on living tissues. At low concentrations, a corrosive substance is called an irritant, and its effect on living tissue is called irritation. At high concentrations, a corrosive substance causes a chemical burn, a distinct type of tissue damage. Corrosives are different from poisons in that corrosives are immediately dangerous to the tissues they contact, whereas poisons may have systemic toxic effects that require time to become evident. Colloquially, corrosives may be called poisons but the concepts are technically distinct. However, there is nothing which precludes a corrosive from being a poison; there are substances that are both corrosives and poisons. Corrosion of non-living surfaces such as metals is a distinct process. For example, a water-air electrochemical cell corrodes iron to rust, corrodes copper to patina, and corrodes copper, silver, and other metals to tarnish. In the international system of symbolic chemical labels, both rapid corrosion of metals and chemical corrosion of skin qualify for the corrosive symbol. Mothers are like angels or the human form of God on this very Earth for us. A mother’s love is beyond comparison. Mothers have a sense beyond the other five normal senses that makes can understand her child’s need. A mother’s instinct to guard and protect her child starts the moment she learns about the pregnancy. As children, we should honor the love and sacrifices of our parents. A perfect mother is one who strives to provide healthy food and ethical values to her children. Forgiveness is indeed an attribute of the strong. For it can only be reflected in those who are able to control their anger. Anger is a force that is difficult to contain, weak people are not able to wield such a power. They let it get out of their hands.

A strong personality is not only able to understand own emotions, i.e. anger, he/she is also able to perceive the feelings of others. For instance, once a boy broke windshield of an old person. The elder knew that it was not intentional and even if it was, then also the child can reform only if he is able to make him understand. This sort of thinking comes with wisdom, a person who is suffering from inferiority complex can’t exercise wisdom.

Hence, one who is strong in character is the only one who is able to forgive.
