The addition and subtraction of the binary number system are similar to that of the decimal number system. When we added the one's column of the binary digit (i.e., 7+4) we get the number which is greater than the base of the decimal number (the base of the number is 10 and the sum of the digit is 11).

i) In thirteenth century a scholar wanted to copy a book. But he didn't have enough paper. So he washed the writing off a manuscript which he did not want then dried the paper and used it.
ii) In fourteenth century, if we bought some food in the market then we would be lucky because we will have a paper which the shopkeeper will wrap and give it to us.

As in decimal system, the multiplication of binary numbers is carried out by multiplyingthe multiplicand by one bit of the multiplier at a time and the result of the partial product for each bit is placed in such a manner that the LSB is under the corresponding multiplier bit
