After reading 3/8 of the book, the remaining fraction 1 - 3/8 = 5/8
The boy then reads 4/5 of 5/8 = 4/5 x 5/8 = 1/2
Total fraction read = 3/8 + 1/2 = 7/8
The unread fraction = 1 - 7/8 = 1/8 This is equivalent to 30 pages
∴ The book has 30 ÷ 1/8 = 240 pages

Step 1: Begin with the decimal fraction and multiply by 2. The whole number part of the result is the first binary digit to the right of the point. Because . 1 x 2 = 0.
An easy method of converting decimal to binary number equivalents is to write down the decimal number and to continually divide-by-2 (two) to give a result and a remainder of either a “1” or a “0” until the final result equals zero. So for example. Convert the decimal number 29410 into its binary number equivalent.
