When you flatter someone, you praise and compliment him or her — but you aren't totally sincere. You flatter your friend by telling her she's the best driver in the world. Because you want her to offer you a ride.

Let x be smallest number. Then the 5 numbers are x, x+3, x+6, x+9 and x+12.
Given that mean is 12.
(x + x+3 + x+6 + x+9 + x+12) / 5 = 12
5x + 30 = 12 × 5
5x = 60 - 30
5x = 30
x = 30/5
x = 6
Hence, sum of 3rd and 4th no is
x+6 + x+9 = 2x + 15
x+6 + x+9 = 2×6 + 15
x+6 + x+9 = 27
Hence, the sum of 3rd and 4th number is 27.
