The Bhakti Movement originated in India as a reaction against the caste system and ritualism. Its impact with regard to promoting regional language and devotional literature were:
- The Bhakti saints preached their teachings in the local language. This led to the development of the local and the vernacular language and reginal literature.
- Regional languages such as Hindi, Bhojpuri, Maithili adn Oriya became extremely popular among masses.
- Some important literary works of this period were 'Ramcharitmanas' by Tulsidas, 'Gurumukh' literature of the Sikh gurus and the Vaishnava literature in Bengal.
- Mirabai enriched poetry with her bhajans. Her brilliant poetry is known as 'Padavali'.
- Sant Janeshwar, a Marathi saint and poet wrote 'Amritanubhava', a treatise on his spiritual experiences.

The subahs were established by padshah (emperor) Akbar during his administrative reforms of 1572–1580; initially, they numbered 12, but his conquests expanded the number of subahs to 15 by the end of his reign. Subahs were divided into Sarkars, or districts. Sarkars were further divided into Parganas or Mahals.

The Ganga- Brahmaputra basin is made up of the plains of Ganga and Brahmaputra, foothills of the Himalayas and the Sundarbans delta.
The area has monsoon climate with hot summers and cool winters.
The plains are most suitable for human occupation as they have fertile lands that are drained by rivers.
The density of plains is very high and agriculture is the main occupation of people. Paddy, wheat, maize and sorghum are other major crops that are grown.
Sugarcane and jute are prominent cash crops while silk is also cultivated.
Transportation is well developed due to plain topography. Commercial activities include industries and tourism.

Mongol attacks on Delhi Sultanate increased during the reign of Alladin Khalji
and in the early years of Muhammad Tughluq.This forced the two rulers to mobilize a large standing army which possessed a huge administrative challenge.The administrative expenses increased because they had to increase their soldiers and pay salaries to them.The Sultans had to construct large garrison towns.

A Hurricane is simply a cyclone with varying high speeds reaching it. This is termed as a Hurricane. |

The rotation of a cyclone is counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere. |
The rotation of a hurricane is clockwise in the southern hemisphere and rotates counterclockwise in northern hemisphere. |

The scale used for measuring cyclones are termed as the Beaufort scale which are capable of measuring high speeds upto 300 kph. |
Hurricanes on the other hand are measured on a different scale and the intensity of the overall damage increases from 1 to 5. |

The region most affected by Cyclones is the Pacific Ocean region. |
The region most affected by Hurricanes is the Caribbean Sea region |

The frequency of cyclones are around 10-14 every year. |
