Manuscripts in early days were handwritten. Writers used palm leaves as paper for writing manuscripts. The historians used to copy down those manuscripts. Different historians presented their version in their own way as many of the words or sentences were beyond their understanding. So they copied what they understood. Later it was difficult to recognize which one was the original manuscript. Historians interpreted the facts as per the manuscripts which they got. Hence we find a number of facts with different illustrations in history.

Because they have no guarantee identity and tax too. In addition to this, they have no price tag and perfect value as they are wholesale products.. As we see, most of the things are home made ones which they sold there.. So the things in market can get at cheap rates.

People do not bargain in shops located in malls whereas they bargain in weekly markets because malls sell expensive and branded goods at the fixed price rate. The rates of products sold in malls are generally high due to addition of establishment cost that are added up like security charge, govt. service charges sale taxes, rent of the shop electricity charges, wages of the hired labours etc.

Whole seller traders are necessary because they buy large amount of goods or products from the producers/manufactures and sell them to the retailers and the consumers at the lower price.
Retailers can earn better profits by buying products from the wholesalers and selling these products to the consumers.
The price of whole selling products always lowers than maximum retail price (M.R.P) which means capacity of earning or making profit by selling these same goods to the consumers.

This is because when shops are in permanent buildings, they incur a lot of expenditure – they have to pay rent, electricity, fees to the government. They also have to pay wages to their workers.

India and Nepal have very good relations that has very few parallels in the world as explained below:

(i)There is a treaty between the two countries that allows their citizens to travel to and work in the other country without visas and passports. A large number of Nepalese are in Indian army. Indian citizens are doing business in Nepal.

(ii)Trade, scientific cooperation, common natural resources, electricity generation and interlocking water management grids have brought the two countries closer to each other. But inspite of this relationship there are minor differences between the two countries :

(iii)The Indian government has often expressed displeasure at the warm relationship between Nepal and China and at the Nepal government’s inaction against anti-Indian elements.

(iv) Maoist movement in Nepal is considered a growing threat to the security of India, givev the rise of naxalite groups in various Indian states from Bihar in the north to Andhra Pardesh in the south.

(v) Citizens in Nepal think that the Indian government interferes in their internal affairs, has designs on its river waters and hydro-electricity and prevents Nepal from getting easier access to the sea through Indian territory.

(vi) There is a hope that the consolidation of democracy in Nepal will lead to improvements in the ties between the two countries.

The Indian constitution recognises all persons as equals. This means that every individual in the country irrespective of his/her caste, religion, educational and economic backgrounds is recognised as equal. Although, inequality still exists in the country, yet the principle of the equality of all persons is recognised. While earlier no law existed to protect people from discrimination and ill treatment now there are several that work to see that people are treated with dignity.

Refer to chapter 1 of civics "on equality' and make assignment.

Prashashtis are long poems which were composed in praise of kings. They were composed by scholars Brahmins.
These Brahmin Darbari poets were appointed by the King himself.
These poems show how the ruler wanted to show himself a brave, victorious warrior.

Prashashtis was not considered a reliable source of information by historians because;

 • The poets themselves are appointed by the King, thus they may be biased in the process of the king's achievements and praise.
 • Secondly, the description of these poems cannot be literally true.

Air is a mixture of many gases. The major component of air is nitrogen gas which is 78%. The second major component of air is oxygen which is 21%. Air is mainly a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen gas with small amounts of carbon dioxide gas, water vapour and other gases. Thus, 99% of air is composed of nitrogen and oxygen and the remaining 1% of air consists of carbon dioxide, water vapour, a few other gases and some dust particles. The composition of air changes slightly from place to place and season to season. For example, the air over industrial cities has a higher amount of carbon dioxide whereas in coastal areas there is more water vapour in air.

My Visit to a Historical Place

A Report

Last week, the Education Society of our school organized an Education tour to the Red Fort, Delhi. It was a one day trip. As many as there were 80 students. We were all curious to witness this monumental evidence of India's Freedom struggle.

We reached the venue at 10:30 am. The Red Fort is located in the heart of Delhi. The fort was the main home of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty for around 200 years until the 1857 mutiny. It was Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan who got it constructed in 1639.

This great walled citadel with red sandstone wall took around 10 years to complete. Visit to the Red Fort is not only an Educational but also a cultural trip. This great monument is the standing example of rich Indian culture intermingling with the Mughal culture which the Mughals had brought to India with them.

We enjoyed the Mughal style of architecture with the fusion of Persian and Hindu traditions. The chief chambers of the fort were Diwan-e-aam and Diwan-e-khaas. The other places the Red Fort houses are Rang Mahal, a Museum ( earlier it was Mumtaj Mahal) etc.

HP GK

Each and every wall of the fort was telling us the beautiful stories of Aristocracy and Indian Freedom Movement. This is also the place from where our Prime Minister unfurls flag and addresses the country every year on 15th August.

After wandering a lot in the lush greenery of the fort, we sat down for taking our lunch. There was a small eatery outlet.

We enjoyed food there. Outside the fort, we also did some shopping. Then we started the return journey to our homes. Really it was the pleasant experience. Besides, the visit enhanced our knowledge about this great historical place and our rich culture and tradition.
