Rashtrakutas become powerful in the following ways
- In the beginning, Rashtrakutas were subordinated to the Chalukyas of Karnataka.
- In the mid-8th century Dantidurga, a Rashtrakuta chief, overthrew his Chalukya overlord.
- He performed a ritual called Hiranya - Garbha with the help of Brahmanas.
- This ritual was then, considered to lead the rebirth of the sacrificer as Kshatriya, even if he was not a Kshatriya born.

The Article 15 in Indian Constitution guarantees equality to all the citizens of the country. Prithviraj III, popularly known as Prithviraj Chauhan, was the Chauhan ruler of present day Rajasthan, Delhi and Haryana. He ruled from 1178 to 1192. He was defeated in 1192 by Mohammad Ghori at the Battle of Tarain.
