The earth is made up of several concentric layers. Concentric means having a common centre. The earth has one layer inside another.
Broadly, there are three layers of the earth:
- Crust: It is the outermost layer over the earth’s surface.
- Mantle: It is the layer just beneath the crust and extends up to a depth of 2900 km below the crust.
- Core: It is the innermost layer i.e. it is below the mantle. Its radius is about 3500 km. The core consists of outer core and inner core.

The reasons are
Staying at one place finished all available food—plant or animal resources.
Animals moved from place to place, and hence, this made the hunter-gatherers to move along with them for hunting them down.
Plants and trees bore fruit in different seasons. Thus, people had to move season to season to find different kinds of plants.
Plants and animals needed water to survive. Although most of the water bodies (lakes, ponds and streams) were perennial, some were seasonal. Thus, people living on the banks had to go in search of water during the dry seasons.

B.Glaciers carve out deep hollows. As the ice melts they get filled up with water and become beautiful lakes in the mountains. The material carried by the glacier such as rocks big and small, sand and silt gets deposited. These deposits form glacial moraines.
