It is because hot sizzling food particles have high kinetic energy which allows them to diffuse quickly in the air and travel a distance of several metres as opposed to cold food particle which have low kinetic energy and cannot travel a distance of several metres. Hope this helps you!Thank you.

It is because of the increase in temperature of hot food which allows the kinetic energy to diffuse faster which makes the particles travel faster than smell of cold food
