A particle goes in a circle of radius 20 cm. A concave mirror of focal length 20 cm is placed with its principal axis passing through the centre of the circle and perpendicular to its plane. The distance between the pole of the mirror and the centre of the circle is 30 cm. Calculate the radius of the circle formed by the image It's a question of class 10 light Asked in my school

since the principal axis goes through the center of circle so line perpendicular to the principal axis from center of circle to the circumference of circle will form a line equal to half the height of object i.e 20cm(it is half because whple circle is 20+20 cm) so now we have ho=20 cm u= -30cm ( as mirror is 30cm away from center of circle) and f= -20cm by mirror formula :- 1/v+1/u=1/f =>1/v-1/30= -1/20 => 1/v= 1/30 - 1/20 => 1/v = 2-3/60 => v = - 60 cm now by magnification in mirror:- -v/u = hi/ho = m => -(-60)/(-30) = hi/20 =>-2 (20) = hi => hi = -40 cm so now the radius of crcle formed by image is equal to hi i.e radius of circle formed is 40cm
if you give me your whatsapp no i can give you the solution with figure for much better explanation
