Let daughters age =x And mother's age =y Now, According to 1st condition 5x =y , 5x - y =0 eq.1 According to 2nd condition 3(x+5) = ( y+5 ) 3x + 15 = y+5 3x -y= - 10 eq. 2 Multiply eq 1 with 3 and eq 2 with 5 By elimination method 15x-3y =0 15x-5y = - 50 By subtracting it becomes 2y = 50 y=25 And put value of y in eq 1 So,x = 5 Sum of their ages = 25+5 = 30
