Given, a circle touches all the four sides of a quadrilateral ABCD whose sides are AB = 6 cm, BC = 9 cm and CD = 8 cm.

If a circle touches all the four sides of quadrilateral ABCD, then
AB + CD = AD + BC
{tex}\therefore{/tex} 6 + 8 = AD + 9
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} 14 = AD + 9
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} 14-9 = AD
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} AD = 5 cm
