A(-3,10) A(x1, y1) B(6,-8) B(x2,y2) R(-1,6) R(x,y) Let the ratio m1:m2 be k:1 So, R(x)=(m1x2+m2x1)÷m1+m2 -1=[k×(6)+1×(-3)]÷k+1 By cross multiplication -1(k+1)=6k-3 -k-1=6k-3 By transportation -k-6k=-3+1 -7k=-2 7k=2 K=2/7 K/1=2/7 K:1=2:7 As we know that k:1=m1:m2 So, 2:7 is ratio
