(2+√3)(2-√3) here we can apply the identity of (a+b)(a-b) = a²-b² So, (2+√3)(2-√3) = (2)²-(√3)² Which means , 4-3 =1 [ here (√3)² = √3×√3 = 3 ] Also,1 is a rational no. as it is in the form of p/q. [ 1/1 ] Hence, (2+√3)(2-√3) is a rational number.
