R = 4ohm = rho * L/A R'= rho * L'/A' ( L'*A' = L*A 3L*A' = L*A A' = A/3) Using this, R'= rho *3L/A/3 = 9 * (rho *L/A) = 9 * R = 9*4 = 36 ohm The resistance of new wire is 36 ohm
