The poem 'The tiger in the zoo' was written by Leslie norris. In this poem ,he contrasted between the tiger which lives in zoo and a tiger which lives in forest. the poet says that he was having only few steps to walk in the cage but in forest he has a vast area with shadow . He can walk freely and he can hide in the shadow to hunt the deer which came near water hole to drink water. At forest he will roam by terrorising the village people . He will give his huge sound near the house in the village but in cage he will ignores the visitors who came to see him because he can't show his power .His powers are locked behind the bars of the concrete cell and he has its own little place to walk. The poet says that the tiger which lives in the forest should live with fear because at night the patrolling cars will come to check the safety of the village people. So, he can't enjoy the sight of brilliant stars with his brilliant eyes .finally the poet concluded with the tiger which lives in the forest .
