Tropic movements happen as a result of growth of a plant part in the direction of the stimulus. There are four types of tropic movements, viz. geotropic, phototropic, hydrotropic and thigmotropic. Example : Roots usually show positive geotropic movement, i.e. they grow in the direction of the gravity.

Tropic( turning) movement is growth movement affected by external stimuli such as light,water and chemical etc. It is basically 5 types: 1 phototropism 2 hydrotropism 3 geotropism 4 chemotropism 5 thigmotropism
