As on tht time when everyone was celebrating independence n leaders were fighting for their political status, gandhi ji was only one person who was trying to stop communal riots in calcutta n maintain peace in the country which was disrupted by the partition..gandhi ji also made several attempts to stop the partition of the country in his last heroic days...
