Because of Lahore session of 26 jan1929 attracted very little attention so Mahatma gandhi wanted to relate freedom to more concrete issues of everyday life so Mg decided to use salt as powerful weapon because at that time there were salt tax... Conclusion- Mg used salt as powerful symbol to unite the nation and to gain freedom. Mahatma Gandhi ji launched the Civil Disobedience Movement because Lord Irwin ignored Gandhi's eleven demands including the abolition of the salt tax. Gandhiji started a civil disobedience movement with the famous Dandi March.
