Osmosis can be defined as the movement of solvent molecules in a solution from a region of it's higher concentration to a region of it's lower concentration across a semipermeable membrane. It depends mainly on 3 factors :- (i) The concentration of the solution. (ii) Temperature at which it occurs. (iii) Degree of dissociation or association of the solute (if possible).
