There are various contraceptive methods to avoid pregnancy: 1. Natural method - Sexual intercourse is safe 1 week before or after menstruation. 2. Barrier method (mechanical method): In this, a barrier is placed between male and female reproductive parts like copper-T, loop, condom, etc. 3. Hormonal method: Hormonal balance is changed to prevent the release of male or female germ cells eg. - oral pills. 4. Surgical method: surgical operation is performed. It is of two types- tubectomy (in which fallopian tube is cut and binded to prevent fertilization, also known as tubal ligation) and vasectomy ( in which vas deferens is cut and binded to prevent the ejaculation of sperm).
