Assertion:A geneticist crossed a pea plant having violet flowers with a pea plant with white flowers,he got all violet flowers in first generation. Reason:White colour gene is not passed on to next generation.

"Assertion is true but reason is false." Indeed, White colour is not shown in the first generation. But it is not because it is not passed. It is because of the fact that the dominant allele (violet) expresses over recessive allele (white). If we cross the first generation by selfing then we would be able to find that white character is transferred.
