let 1/3+3√2 be a rational number 1/3+3√2 = a/b [ where b is not equal to zero] Rationalize the denominator, 1/3+3√2= 3-3√2 / 3-3√2 = 3-3√2/ (3)² - (3√2)² -(3-3√2)/ 9 = a/b -3 + 3√2 = 9a/b 3√2 = 9a+ 3b/b √2 = 9a + 3b/3b we know that √2 is irrational Irrational is not equal to rational . therefore, 1/3+3√2 is irrational Hope that my answer helps...
