Why -CHO group cannot be linked to each other by more than three covalent bonds.why?

Carbon has a valency of 4. In the case of -CHO group it already shares one bond with hydrogen and a double bond with oxygen, only one more place left for bonding. Its not possible to place it in the middle. So, the -CHO group always placed at the end.
