x-6=0 x=6 Put x=6 in given equation x3+ax2 +bx-b=0 (6)3+a(6)2 +b(6)-b=0 18+12a+6b-b=0 6(3+2a+b-b)=0 3+2a+b-b=0------(1) a-b=7 (given) a=b+7-----(2) Put eq 2 in eq 1 3+2(b+7)+b-b=0 3+2b+14+b-b=0 17+2b=0 b=-17/2 Put value of b in eq 2 a-b=7 a-(-17/2)=7 a+17/2=7 a=7-17/2 a=14-17/2 a=-3/2
