Through Kisa Gotami, the Buddha wanted to tell the world that death is the ultimate truth. All mortals are destined to die sooner or later. There is no family in the world where no one has lost a child, husband, parent or friend. Lamenting for a son or a parent is like showing selfishness in grief.
