Swaraj lays stress on governance not by a hierarchical government, but self governance through individuals and community building A wide variety of social groups responded tro the call of Swaraj given by Mahatma Gandhi during the Non-Cooperation-Khilafat Movement. Inevitably, each of their interpetations of the concept of Swaraj differd from one another.
