(1) Double membrane structure (2)Outer layer have pors(hole) and inner layer is deeply folded (3)It is known as powerhouse of cell. Function: The energy required for various chemical activities. Needed for life is released by mitrochondia in the form of "ATP"(Adenosine triphosphate) molecules ATP is known as energy currency of cell. Structure: Mitrochondia are strange organelles in the sense that they have there own DNA(deoxyribo nucleic acid) and ribosomes. Therefore, Mitrochondia are able to make some of their own proteins.
