Foot(length) Pound(mass) Second(time). This critria was followed by Britishers by which earlier we also used it after the independence of Indians from them as we were also habitual of their culture.

FPS system is the System of units and measurements which are of British origin. The three major units in this system are FEET for length (ft), POUNDS for mass (pd) and SECOND for time (sec).
