Solution: Let the radius of the circle be 'r' Thus, the circumference C = 2πr Therefore, r = C/2π A quadrant of a circle means one of the four equal parts. Therefore, the area of a quadrant = 1/4 × Area of a circle = 1/4 × πr2 Circumference (C) = 22 cm Therefore, radius (r) = C/2π = 22/(2 × 22/7) = (22 × 7)/(2 × 22) = 7/2 cm Therefore, the area of a quadrant = 1/4 × πr2 = 1/4 × 22/7 × 7/2 × 7/2 = 77/8 cm2
