When we construct a diagonal in rectangle we get two congruent triangles and area of congruent triangle are equal in measure so if you get area of one triangle formed after constructing a diagonal the atea of rectangle would be two times the area of that triangle or just multiply area of that triangle with 2 you will get area of rectangle

It is used when you draw one diagonal then you get two triangle then find the area of both triangle and add the area
