GIVEN: Total no. of coins = 50 Total amount of money = ₹75 TO FIND: No. of ₹1 and ₹2 coins. SOLUTION: Let the no. of ₹1 coins be x and ₹2 coins be y. So, 1(no. of ₹1 coins)+2(no. of ₹2 coins) = Total money 1x+2y=75 --------(1) Now, No. of ₹1 coins + No. of ₹2 coins = Total no. of coins x+y=50 ----------(2) Subtracting eq.(2) from eq.(1) (x+2y)-(x+y)=75-50 x+2y-x-y=25 y=25 Now, From eq.(2) x+y=50 x+25=50 x=50-25 x=25 Therefore, there are 25 no. of ₹1 coins and 25 no. of ₹2 coins.
