Why sulphur shows more catenation than oxygen?

Due to smaller size and lone pair repulsion in the oxygen atom, it is not able to show catenation property while sulphur due it's larger size than oxygen and less repulsion between lone paire due to distance between them , it can exist as S8 in nature and hence shows catenation property.

Because oxygen is more electronegative than sulphur due to which repulsion b/w oxygen molecules is high..
