The countries select there own time meridian because they can follow their standard time by their meridian. For eg indias standard meridian goes from (mirzapur, allahabad, uttar pradesh) so it become easy for us to calculate time as its will be very difficult to calculate time according to Greenwich.

If a man is moving from one part to another part of a country through the center of the country there may be GAIN or LOSS of Time to a that confusion countries take their own standards meridian .
