Answer- Arnav spends time for studies= 12hrs Arnav spends time in playing cricket= 24 hrs He spent his time in all= 12hrs+24hrs= 36hrs Therefore, he spent 36hrs in all. Explanation- Arnav is a boy who spent 12hrs in his studies, 24 hrs in playing cricket. And then the question is how much time did he spend in all. We have know that when there is 'in all' in a question, it is asking to add them. So, we can find the answer of this question by adding them.
