Here the ratio of hydrogen and oxygen is 2:1. That means in water the oxygen present as 1 molecule and hydrogen is present as 2molecules . If we electrolyte the water two thing which are separated from water ,hydrogen(H) and hydroxide (OH) . The positive ions going towards the cathodes, which is negatively charged and the negative ions going towards the anode, which is positively charged. That time hydrogen gas is going to first test tube and the hydrogen of hydrogen oxide is also going to first test tube as it is positively charged . And the oxygen's one and only atom goes in other test tube. And ratio of hydrogen and oxygen remains same as in the water is 2:1 . Therefore the hydrogen gas which we collected in first test tube is double than other one in which the oxygen gas.
