Answer : The reason behind the high yielding food grains per hectare in Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh is that these states are the parts of Green Revolution. India's Green Revolution took place in the early 1960's with an aim to increase agricultural products or food-grains. Under the green revolution, recent procedures and knowledge of agriculture like the usage of high yielding variety seeds, irrigation systems, tractors, fertilizers and pesticides were included and used. Two reasons behind the high yielding food grains per hectare in states like Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh; 1. Usage of modern agricultural technology and seeds which give high yielding. 2. Introduction of Green Revolution in these states.
