Clergy - People who were related to church and put investments on church .They were exempted from paying taxes and they collected tax from peasants in the form of tithe where the peasants had to give 1/10th of the agricultural produce Nobility - 2nd estate, these people payed taxes genuinely and got the privileges from the monarch , they collected feudal dues from the 3rd estate 3rd estate - They comprise of merchants, business man, lawyers, peasants, artisans etc they had to pay taille which is the direct tax payed to the state Over here the 3rd estate have been over-burdened on paying taxes while the clergy and nobility enjoyed
