i ) let x = 0.2323---( 1 )
Multiply equation ( 1 ) with 100, we get
100x = 23.2323-----( 2 )
Subtract ( 1 ) from ( 2 ) , we get
99x = 23
x = 23/99 ----( 3 )
ii ) Let y = 0.2222----( 4 )
Multiply equation ( 4 ) with 100,
100y = 22.2222-----( 5 )
Subtract ( 4 ) from ( 5 ) , we get
99y = 22
y = 22/99 ----( 6 )
Therefore ,
0.23bar + 0.22bar
= x + y
= 23/99 + 22/99
= ( 23 + 22 ) / 99
= 45/99
= 5/11
