Breathing is external process and extracellular and occur only to limited body parts ,no energy is released where respiration is internal and intracellular process and occur in each and every cell of our body , it releases energy

RESPIRATION - It is the process by which food is oxidized to release energy. For this O^2 is required from outside of the body to breakdown the food. BREATHING - It is the process of taking in required gas(inhalation) and giving out unrequired gases(exhalation)
