SALTS are substances obtained on neutralisation reaction between an acidic and a basic substance. They are formed when the H+ radical in acids is replaced by a (METAL)+ radical.

Salt of a strong acid and a weak base is always ACIDIC in nature and its pH is <7. Whereas, salt of a strong base and a weak acid would always be BASIC in nature.
