A voltmeter has high resistance so it is connected in parallel. If we connect it in series then current would not able to flow properly which cause voltmeter to burn

Voltmeter has the resistance which is high or it is taken as infinity if it would be connected in parallel then all the current will be resisted and current will not be able to flow. In Ammeter it's resistance is very low and taken as negligible or zero so it is connected in series....

A voltmeter has high resistance and if it is connected in series then it would consume all the current but an ammeter has low reistance and if it is connected in parallel then all the current would flow through ammeter and nothing would flow in the circuit
