The ethnic composition of Belgium is very complicated. Of the total population, 59% spoke Dutch and lived in the Flemish region, 40% spoke French and lived in the Wallonia region, 1% spoke German. The population in Brussels, however, consisted of 80% French speaking and 20% Dutch speaking people. The ethnic composition in Srilanka is diverse. Of the total population, 74% spoke Sinhala and most of them followed Buddhism, 18% spoke Tamil of which 13% were Srilankan Tamils. Most of the Tamils followed Hinduism or Islam. About 7% people followed Christianity an belonged to both Sinhala and Tamil speaking communities.

The ethnic composition of Belgium and Sri Lanka are complex and diverse. In Belgium: • 59℅ of the population are Dutch-speaking and live in the Flemish region. •40℅ of the population are French-speaking and live in the Wallonia region. • Remaining 1℅ of Belgians are German-speaking and they live near the German border. In Sri Lanka, • 74℅ of the population are Sinhala-speaking. • 18℅ of the population are Tamils. Among them, 13℅ are Sei Lankan and 5℅ are Indian Tamils • 8℅ of the population are Christians who are Sinhalese and Tamils.
