☆Metal +acid=salt+hydrogen ☆Metal +oxygen =metal oxide ☆Metal oxide +water=metal hydroxide ☆Metal+water=metal oxide+hydrogen Similarly as non metal

METALS = are electropositive in nature. Oxides are either basic or amphoteric in nature. Oxides are good reducing agents. Reactive ones can replace H2 in acids. NON METALS = are electronegative in nature. Oxides are either acidic or neutral in nature. Oxides are good oxidising agents. Cannot react with acids.
