Given: the ratio of sides is 4:9 Solution: Let there are two triangles ABC and PQR similar to each other Where AB/PQ=4/9 According to theorem 6.6 which states that the ratio of areas of similar triangles is equal to the square of the ratio of their sides Hence, ar(ABC)/ar(PQR)=(AB/PQ)² =(4/9)² =(16/81) Therefore, the ratio of the areas of given triangles is 16:81 Hope this helps u!!! One more thing this(theorem 6.6) is deleted from the syllabus od 2020-2021 as 30percent syllabus is reduced ???
