Let AC be the building and ED be the tower. Draw the angles and join E to a point on AB, parallel to CD. To make the angle of 30° on top of tower. Now, BC=ED and CD=BE and AC=60 m(given). In triangle ACD tan 60°=AC/CD => root 3 = 60/CD => CD = 60/root 3 => CD= 20 root 3 metre Therefore, BE = 20 root 3 metre (since CD=BE) In triangle ABE tan 30°= AB/BE => 1/root 3 = AB/ 20 root 3 (since BE= 20 root 3 metre) => AB= 20 metre Therefore, BC= AC - AB BC = 60-20 Therefore, BC = 40m Therefore, height of tower is 40m.( since BC = ED)
