Groups are in vertical lines whereas periods are in horizontal lines. There are 18 groups in MPT(Morden periodic table) whereas there are 7 period's in MPT. When we move left to right in a period Valence electron number inc whereas in groups number of valence electron remain same. Hope this will help you........??
