(a) 6 CO2 (g) + 6 H2O (l) ---Sunlight---Chlorophyll---> C6H12O6 (aq) + 6 O2 (g). (b) Light energy, obtained by plants as photons with the help of chlorophyll, is used in breaking down water molecules into hydrogen (used to reduce carbon dioxide to carbohydrates) and oxygen. (c) Factors influencing rate of photosynthesis = Availability of carbon dioxide, availability of water, presence of sunlight and presence of chlorophyll.
